They Can’t All Be Great It is April and most of us are experiencing the build up of business and family commitments as they start to affect the amount of “uncommitted” time we have available. Before you put off your next exercise session because you don’t have the time or energy, consider this: they can’t all be great. Not every time you exercise or work out is going to be a “wow, I feel great” experience. Many will, but some won’t and that is OK. Time restrictions, your mood, the weather and possibly injury will effect what you can and want to do. Plan for this and be prepared to adjust to suit. Remembering this important point takes the pressure off you when you “should” be working out for an hour but only have 20 minutes and a headache. You are much less likely to cancel if you can move it down a notch - for example stretch for twenty minutes instead. Aim for no cancellations, the real benefits come from making exercise a habit.
