For goodness sake (Deanne Ashfords column)

As your diary becomes crowded and the to-do lists grow longer, it is easy to drop activities that seem to eat up your time, like exercise.
Yet there is nothing quite like it to relieve stress, improve sleep and elevate your mood. Exercise causes the brain to release ‘happy’ chemicals, giving you a natural high. It helps clear the mind and enables you to let off steam. Nothing beats the blues like a brisk 3 km walk. As you get busier, even if you can only do half the amount of exercise you normally do, or shorter sessions, keep this time as yours. In the time you do have, walk a bit faster, add a hill, or add an extra set to your resistance training to challenge yourself. On days where you are flat strap, try getting up half an hour earlier for a quick walk around the block to start your day, or add a brisk 10 minute walk into your day. Have a great holiday.

PS: everywhere is within walking distance if you have the time.
