The Stanwell Park Arts Theatre (SPAT) group is promising a light hearted, fun and imaginative night of 'hidden treasures’ when it presents ‘Robinson Crusoe and the Pirates’ as its Christmas Pantomime.
The Pantomime is centered around Robinson Crusoe, his mother and his fiancée with plenty of 'dastardly' pirates who are out to spoil their fun, along with tribes of natives and a gorilla who gets up to a great deal of monkey business!
The audience won't miss out on the fun with plenty of opportunities to get involved, whether it is cheering on their hero, or booing and hissing at the tempestuous Black Beard and his mischievous henchman, Patch! Classified as a family-suitable play, the singing, dancing and comical dialogue will have everybody entertained.
The subtle tongue-in-cheek humour as well as the flamboyant and over the top characters and costuming will leave the audience amused and astonished.
This is a traditional Pantomime, with “cross-dressing, fishnet tights and side-slapping”. The work is by Paul Reakes and directed by Jennifer Woolsey, a member of the North Essex Theatre Group, who has been awarded ‘Best Production’ by the group several years in a row. This is her 11th full-length pantomime and taking into account the standard of previous SPAT pantomimes means this year should be better than ever.
The show is being performed in the Stanwell Park CWA hall on the 7th, 8th, 14th, 15th and 16th of December. Tickets can be booked by calling: 4294 4060. More information can be found at www.spat.org.au.
