Learn about your local rural fire service

The NSW Rural Fire Service Open Day will be held this year on Saturday 20 September. Rural Fire Brigades from Helensburgh, Otford, Darkes Forest and Stanwell Park will be at Charles Harper Park, Parkes Street in Helensburgh, where you can meet the firefighters and take part in many activities.

Volunteer firefighters will be presenting a number of displays between 10 am and 2 pm, including basic fire safety, fire extinguishers and home fire safety.

For the smaller children, there will be a colouring competition and a jumping castle. As a special treat, SMOKEY the fire safety koala will be making an appearance at 12:30 pm.

Rural Fire Service tankers and equipment will also be on display, so come along and meet your local firefighters!
