Coastlands Fitness Centre has some great news for the community. The upstairs gym has been renovated and equipment improved. Customers are raving about the improvements and giving the thumbs up.
Coastlands Fitness Centre is a non-profit organisation that is here to serve its community. For the first time in history, the fitness centre made a profit in 2009 and all funds have been used to update the new gym.
The gym has two new bikes, a rowing machine, has been painted, decorated, special flooring put in the free weights area and new weights equipment installed.
A customer who has been coming to the gym for eight years said, “This is fantastic, this is the best it has ever been”.
Funds were obtained by a low spend policy in 2009, coupled with a number of fund raising actives such as the ‘Gingerbread House Fund Raiser’ afternoon. However, when one member of the community was made aware that the gym was trying to raise funds to update equipment, she decided to donate some industrial strength weights equipment at no cost to the Fitness Centre.
When asked why, she said “Just happy for it to be of benefit and used by people in our community”. What an amazing gift and attitude. That’s what living in Helensburgh is all about.
For the month of Feb, the Fitness Centre is offering a $50 one month membership as a way of inviting people in to come in and give our local Fitness centre a go.
Coastlands Fitness Centre would also like to say thank you to all their customers. It is a pleasure living and providing this service to our community.
