Sunday, 7 March 2010 is Clean Up Australia Day and this year marks the 20th Anniversary of Clean Up Australia Day. We hope to encourage and inspire thousands of Australians to take to their local park, beach, bushland and streets and really help make a difference to their location environment.
Clean Up Australia has made a huge difference over the last 20 years. Last year, we picked up over 2 million pieces of rubbish. That's pretty amazing and we want to say ‘thank you' to everyone who took part.
What's even more amazing is if each and every Australian picks up JUST 1 piece of rubbish, we'll pick up 10 times more than last year. That's around 20 million pieces.
So for our 20th Anniversary, we're asking people to help make this the best Clean Up Australia Day ever - by picking up JUST 1 piece of rubbish.’
Helensburgh and District Landcare would like to challenge you to pick up more than just one piece of rubbish. Come along and register at the Old Mine Surgery, corner of Parkes and Junction Streets between 9 am and 1 pm on Sunday, 7 March and we’ll give you a bag to fill with rubbish.
Help clean up Helensburgh! Clean up an area of your choice, or we can suggest an area to clean up. Bring your own gloves, hat and sturdy shoes.
